Meet Nathan Murphy! From cannot afford sets of drums to a full spectrum musician.

Never heard of someone who can do so much on a guitar and yet sounds musical. Have you? His guitar style incorporates playing all parts of his music at one time with an emphasis on melody and percussion – too way impressive right?

Nathaniel Murphy, or known as @zeppelinbarnatra is one of the most underrated but impressive talented guitarists @talented_musicians have ever featured. It is our great honor to ask our followers to make some questions to him and coordinate an interview with him. Sounds amazing right. Now, among the 300 comments (We love you so much guys!), we summarized a few key questions for this amazing dude!

Can you tell us a background of yourself and your music? Why guitar and not other instruments?

Well I actually wanted to be a drummer. I was always banging stuff and doing the rhythm to songs but I don’t think we could afford a drum kit and didn’t have the room for it either. So I eventually got my first guitar a week or so before my 13th birthday. I started out playing Oasis songs and Beatles etc and gradually moved onto Led Zeppelin who were my biggest influence although you probably couldn’t tell from my playing. I eventually discovered Michael Hedges

And he completely changed the way we all look at the guitar.

And that’s where all started.

So how you have been influence with music? Is it from your family and friends or a musician’s influence?

Well both my Grandfathers played traditional Irish music so I suppose that was some early influence/exposure to live music. But music has always been a big part of my family whether it just being on the radio/CD or someone playing.

What struggles have you encountered and are there days you don’t feel like to play anymore? And what makes you play again?

The struggles I encounter are mostly with myself really. I know I should practice more. I know i should be more proactive and actively seeking gigs. Sometimes I just need shouting at!!
I always jam/practice and never feel like I don’t want to play. Maybe when I play/practice it should be more structured but I always enjoy playing my guitar. Always makes me happy. There’s always something to learn and you can never get bored with it. Plus there’s always someone better than you 😂

What have you gained throughout this journey and how does it feels that many are enjoying and loving your music?

Through my videos on Instagram, I’ve connected with literally thousands of people, and for them to constantly say they enjoy my music/playing is very humbling and I’m extremely grateful.

And what is your advice to all aspiring guitarist especially those who wanted to start but don’t know how to?

Advice to guitarists just starting out would be to be patient. Your fingers have never had to do what you’re now asking them to do so it will take time! Practice and patience. It also has to be fun. If not then that’s a problem. I don’t think you can fall in love with something if it isn’t fun.

Thanks for those. Another one. What are you up to at the moment and what are your plans and goals in the next couple of months?

No problem!
I’m recording an album at the moment and hope to have it on Spotify and iTunes within next couple of months. When that happens I’m really hoping to do lots of gigs and live performances. Would be great to travel the country playing gigs. That’s a dream!
